Students will spend each half term focusing on one out of six professional dance works specified by the exam board. Students will learn specific constituent features of each production both through theory lessons and create repertoire in their practical lessons. Students will develop the skills and knowledge in creating their own performances as soloist, in a duet and in group pieces. Each half term will be supported through both practical and theory lessons to underpin their knowledge and understanding.
Year 11 is where we start to combine all skills and knowledge for the exam process. Students will complete three separate practical exams, consisting of two solo performances, either a duet or trio performance and a solo or group choreography piece. Following the practical exams students will focus in more detail on the written exam paper, made up of three sections that combine their knowledge and understanding of all work studied across the two years.
