Welcome to our Sixth Form - a remarkable place to learn. Our vision is simple, to be the Sixth Form of choice for our community and one of the top three in Essex. Every student is known, supported, and challenged to achieve more than they every thought possible. Our Campus Culture celebrates maturity, independence and responsibility, while our Leadership Programme develops confidence and character through mentoring and practical experience. We combine high expectations with high support, creating a community that is kind, aspirational, and full of joy.

We were extremely grateful to have Chris Yeates from the charity Back Up attend Year 13 life learning, where he shared his experience of a life changing event resulting in him breaking his neck.
Chris spoke openly to our students about the impact of the event and the work that he does for the charity.
Students were invited to ask questions and stayed behind after the session to find out more information about Chris’ passion of go kart racing where he recently competed in France in his adapted go kart

On Sunday our Head Student Gareth and Deputy Head Student Amy represented our school and Sixth Form with pride and dignity at the Remembrance Sunday service in Rochford. They laid a wreath on behalf of our school community to honour the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
We are incredibly proud of their respectful participation in this important act of remembrance. Lest we forget.

Year 13 were lucky to have Jack Broomfield and Lee Umpleby speaking to them about their role as Paramedics with the East of England Ambulance Service.
Jack and Lee discussed the different routes that can be taken into the role, the most common calls from patients and shared their experiences with the students.
We are looking forward to welcoming them back in the near future to talk to Year 12 and provide vital CPR training.

Year 13 Maths Students Explore the University of Essex!
On Wednesday 24th September, our Year 13 A Level Maths students visited the University of Essex for an inspiring day of academic exploration and insight into university life!
Students took part in a range of sessions covering topics usually reserved for university-level study — including Advanced Calculus, Algebra, Bayesian Statistics, and more!
The day included hands-on activities, enrichment talks delivered by current research academics, and a presentation on the university application process. Students also enjoyed a campus tour and the opportunity to chat with current students about life at Essex.
A fantastic day full of learning, inspiration, and a glimpse into the exciting world of higher education!

Despite a 3-0 loss to KEGS Sixth Form, the team showed incredible teamwork, resilience, and spirit throughout the match.

Huge congratulations to Emily in Year 13, who has recently achieved her Grade 5 in Music with Distinction!
She’s now preparing for her Grade 6 performance exam this November, which will not only showcase her talent but also count towards her UCAS points as she works towards her dream of studying Biomedicine in the future.
This summer, Emily also had the fantastic opportunity to attend a Cambridge University Summer School – an incredible step on her journey!
We couldn’t be prouder of Emily’s dedication and hard work – both in music and academics.

What a fantastic evening!
We were thrilled to welcome so many students and parents to our Success in Year 12 and Year 13 Evening. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and explore the exciting journey ahead through Sixth Form and beyond.
Our Headteacher, Ms Ingate, alongside Deputy Headteacher Mrs Goodyear and our dedicated Sixth Form team, shared valuable insights into academic pathways, personal development, and the wide range of post-18 options available—from university and apprenticeships to career opportunities.

✨ We were delighted to welcome Natalie from Rochford District Council, who spoke to our Year 12 and Year 13 students about the fantastic volunteering opportunities available in Rochford.
Students were introduced to:
• The Young Essex Assembly, where they can be elected to the youth council for Essex and contribute to local and county-wide issues.
• Young Volunteers, who take part in local projects and fundraising activities.
• The Rochford District Youth Council, which works on initiatives to enhance the lives of people in the Rochford area.
We were truly impressed by how many of our students are already actively involved in volunteer work. We hope this inspires even more young people to get involved and make a meaningful difference in their communities. 🌟

🚴♂️ Huge congratulations to Brett in Year 13 who recently completed a 100km cycle ride to raise funds for Fairleigh Hospice.
Out of over 100 participants, Brett impressively finished 2nd, in 3 hours and 26 minutes which is a truly outstanding achievement!
So far, he has raised £300 for the hospice and we’re hoping to build on that total. We are incredibly proud of Brett’s dedication, determination, and generosity.

We are looking forward to welcoming our students on Thursday for our GCSE Results Day and Sixth Form Enrolment. We wish our students the very best of luck with their results.
If you are joining us from another school to enrol into Sixth Form, you are very welcome to arrive from 1.30pm to meet with our dedicated Sixth Form team who will help with your enrolment. Please ensure you bring your GCSE results with you.
If you are unable to join us on Thursday for our Sixth Form enrolment, we will have our mop up enrolment day on Tuesday 2nd September in our Sixth Form. Please report to our main reception upon your arrival where you will be greeted and we will confirm the time closer to the date.

Today our Year 12 students enjoyed a trip to the University of Essex in Colchester to attend the UCAS Discovery Event. This exciting event allows our students the unique opportunity to visit all of the universities in the country under the one roof along with apprenticeship and industry experts. They were very keen to collect as many bags and prospectuses as possible and enjoyed a well earned ice cream at the end. We hope this trip has helped our students shape their future plans after Sixth Form and given them a focus ahead of our forthcoming mock interview and UCAS preparation day.

Our Sixth Form students had a valuable session with Ed Flack from Wize Up and Ruby, a university Law student, on budgeting and managing their finances. They learned how to make wise spending decisions and handle their income effectively. We’re excited for more insightful visits from Wize Up next academic year for both Year 12 and Year 13!"

Red Nose Day 🎉
✨We are looking forward to celebrating Red Nose Day next Friday!✨
On this day, students are encouraged to come to school wearing outfits of their choice. We kindly ask that all clothing be appropriate for the school environment. We want all students to enjoy the day comfortably, while adhering to our school’s dress code guidelines. These include no cropped tops, no low-cut tops, shoulders must be covered, no ripped jeans and shoes must cover the whole foot. All students must ensure they have their ID badge on show, their KES wallet, all the necessary equipment for their lessons including their locker key and KES PE kit if they have a PE lesson.
To support the Red Nose Day campaign, we request that each student brings a donation of £2. All the funds collected will go directly to the charity, helping to make a positive difference in the lives of many children.
