Redevelopment Programme

At The King Edmund School, our vision is clear: to be a remarkable school, a place where every young person can Dream, Believe, Achieve. To achieve this, we are not only transforming learning within our classrooms but also reimagining the very spaces in which those dreams take shape.

Following the successful completion of Phase 1 of our redevelopment, we are delighted to share with you the next stage of this exciting journey. Phase 2 of our redevelopment programme will see the creation of another brand-new school building housing many of our faculties, a new sports hall, a refurbished and extended swimming pool, and landscaped grounds and quad that will inspire pride and ambition in our whole community.

This investment is about far more than bricks and mortar. It represents our joint commitment with the Department of Education to create an environment where:

  • Excellence is expected. State-of-the-art classrooms, specialist facilities, and modern learning spaces will give every student the very best platform to succeed.
  • Opportunities are limitless. New sports and leisure facilities will broaden horizons, nurture talent, and promote wellbeing for all.
  • Community is strengthened. Our new campus will be a place that welcomes, inspires, and serves not only our students, but Rochford and the wider community.

We know that education is about moments that last a lifetime: the lesson that sparks a passion, the team that wins against the odds, the project that builds confidence and belief. This redevelopment will enable us to create more of those moments for every student who walks through our doors.
