Teacher of Science

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science who can deliver engaging, challenging and inclusive lessons that enable students of all abilities to make excellent progress. You will play an important role in developing students’ scientific knowledge, practical skills and curiosity about the world around them.

The successful candidate will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage, motivate and challenge students.
• Inspire students to develop a passion for Science and achieve their full potential.
• Monitor student progress and use assessment effectively to inform teaching.
• Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the Science department.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and student participation.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share good practice and improve outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

• A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
• Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 range, with first class classroom management skills
• The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
• Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
• A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
• The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
• A clear commitment to improving your own and others’ performance through effective continuous professional development
