Each year KES welcomes students from other schools into the Sixth Form. Staff work closely with the new students to ensure they settle quickly and become fully integrated into the KES community. New students to the school are assigned a “buddy” to help them to find their way around and become familiar with school procedures. They are also closely monitored to ensure that their transition is smooth. The application process includes the submission of an application form and attendance at an interview and Open Day in the Spring Term. Potential students are also welcome to visit the school at any other time. Following the publication of exam results, there is then an enrolment process where students are then able to confirm their course choices.
Year 11 students at KES, who wish to attend the Sixth Form, are interviewed in the Autumn term. An application form is then completed to confirm choices. The purpose of the interview is to advise students about what Sixth Form offers and allow students to share ideas about what they would like out of Post-16 education. Students will then be able to confirm their choice of subjects.
In the summer term, KES runs a bridging course for all students to help them to make the adjustment from GCSE to Sixth Form study and prior to courses starting in September; there is an induction period to help all students to settle into Sixth Form life.
Please download our course guide below to find out more about the courses available from September 2018.
If you are currently studying at another school and wish to attend our Sixth Form, please contact Mrs Ramdin at the school.
