School Gateway

KES uses a communication service called ‘School Gateway’. The service allows the school to share information with 'Priority 1' parents and students online and via a smartphone app. It also allows 'Priority 1' parents to make online payments with a debit or credit card at any time 24-7, via the same smartphone app or on the School Gateway website.

'Priority 1' parents are able to view school meal balances, and top them up, as well as give online consent, where required, for their child to take part in school trips and other activities. Notification of new items for payment are received by App message, text or email.

'Priority 1' parents are also able to view their child’s attendance and two week rolling timetable, behaviour and achievements points, advise the school of reasons for their child’s absence via App message and view and notify the school of updates to their child’s contact details and medical conditions.

Students are able to view their timetable, attendance and personal details and their behaviour and achievement points.

It saves the school money if parents use the App as it allows the school to send free in App messages which will be useful in the event of school closures, reminders and emergencies.

To use School Gateway, the school needs to have an up to date email address and mobile number for the 'Priority 1' parent. If the school does not already have this information then please send an email to joanneburrows@kes.essex.sch.uk with the email address and mobile number to be used.
